"The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude." - Julia Child
Found this quote from Julia Child and I thought this was quite appropriate for what I'm about to embark on. I graduated with a BA in English and Visual Arts almost three years ago with the intention of becoming a high school English teacher. Needless to say, this did not happen. I came to the realization after four years of schooling, that I was more cut out to be a student than a teacher. With much trepidation over the past three years, I have finally taken the plunge to go back to school for the one thing that I have always wanted to do...bake. I was made to be in the kitchen.
Although, I enjoyed my time in University, and still feel that the education I received is useful, it just never clicked for me. I have always dreamed of having a career where I could use my creativity to make beautiful works of art for friends and family to enjoy. I feel I am on my way to overcoming that "stumbling block" and have taken the leap to attend the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa. I will be attending their Patisserie program and hope to learn as much as I can about the industry I so passionately want to be a part of. Can't wait to get started!!

Love that smile!
Hi Anita,
This is the first chance I've had to look at your blog and I've just read it all from start to finish. It's looks like you're having an intense but fantastic experience and all your pastries look amazing!! You're also a great blogger and I look forward to following it. Wishing you much success (and fun) as you continue your schooling.
Thanks so much Laurie! I promise I'm getting myself together and slowly updating everything. Please keep reading! :)
